This term we are learning about explorers who are important to our history as a nation, and European explorers who are important to world history in general.
Famous explorers like; . Christopher Columbus . Marco Polo . Ferdinand Magellen . Vasco deGama . Jean Ponce deLeon . Prince Henry the Navigator . Jacques Cartier . Willem Jansz . John Cabot . Dirk Hartog |
DioramaYou need to use the information and facts you have discovered to make a diorama. Be creative with how you share your information. We need to be able to 'read' all about your explorer without reading any text at all.
Remember, we don't want to know that you have used a shoebox, so cover the writing and text in a stunning way. You are in charge of the final details - get feedback from others, use the criteria to check that you have included everything that you need to include, use your lapbook to help you with your information. |
LapbookA lapbook is a fold out panel book. In your lapbook, you are displaying everything you know about your explorer.
You can include illustrations, information in text, details and images of the ships, flags and information about the explorers nationality, interesting facts and discoveries, maps of where they travelled, anything! Remember, you are in charge of the marks you get, so think about how you can go above and beyond the minimum. |
